The Best of Both Worlds…A Remote Golf Trolley
A remote golf trolley
gives you the best of both worlds. You keep fit by walking the course but avoid the added strain that comes from lugging a bag around or dragging a push or pull cart. The average golf bag weighs anywhere between 25 and 45 lbs and golfers who carry their bags put their back and shoulders under a lot of strain, putting it down and picking it up close to 100 times in a round. Using a regular push or pull cart can also put strain on your arms and shoulders unnecessarily, especially going uphill.
Most golfers grow up learning the game while walking and carrying their bag, they become a custom to the routine and the pace of play, not to mention the exercise they get. However as their lives start to change and become more hectic, many resort to the 4 wheel electric golf carts in an effort to save time.
They often see their handicaps go up because their routine has been interrupted, at first they don’t understand why their game is suddenly change for the worst.
Generally the first clue, is when they arrive at the course, and discover for that day its cart path only, so it’s decided to walk and carry their bag. He discovers after a few holes he’s playing up to his old standards, and realizes maybe he needs to start walking again to maintain his sharpness and play to his potential.
After the round he’s thinking about how much better he played, but notices his shoulder is sore from carrying his bag and he’s not in the best of shape now since riding in those 4 wheel carts.
So for all those duffers out there, that once played to those low handicaps, maybe it time to start walking the course’s again, find your old game and take back some of that money you lost to your buddies.
Here is a list of things to Consider when buying an electric golf caddy
1. Compare your options, make sure it light weight, something you can transport yourself.
2. Make sure its compact in order to carry your golf bag and accessories along with your golf caddy , most electric golf caddies weigh 25 lbs and then there your battery it will weigh another 25 lbs.
3. Make certain the drive motors are strong enough to with stand all the weight. Altogether your caddy, accessories and bag you can top out over 65lbs. So you want to make certain you can get 18 holes in. Some course’s have a lot of terrain and you’ll need a good battery, I prefer gel batteries.
4. You also need to pay close attention to the tires on electric golf caddies. The have pneumatic tires and solid rubber, both are fine but some solid rubber tires can slip on the wheels when they get wet. This usually happen on two piece wheels.
5. Make certain if you choose a remote controlled caddy that you have forward, reverse, right, left and stop function on your remote, also make sure your remote has a time out provision, this allows the cart to stop running automatically if and doesn’t receive a command in 15, 20, or 30 seconds.
Let’s start walking with your new remote golf trolley , and you will have people asking where you got that thing. I’ll bet, you’ll start something new with in your group when you show up with your new caddy, they will soon join you in walking.
