Golf trolley motors… Help?

Question by jackhutchinson2008: golf trolley motors… Help?
Im currently studying on a 1st year HNC and have been asked to design a electrical golf trolley , like the Powakaddy ect. However I am struggling to find a suitable motor and battery to power the trolley for 4hrs of usage. I’ve found a motor that pulls 16.8A at 12V from Lemac however this would need a 70ah battery to power it for around the 4hr mark. i would like to know what other systems use as their motor and battery because they all manage to meet minimal weight requirements and long battery life when in use.

Any answers much appreciated.

If you look at other golf carts, you note that they use multiple (4) batteries, that may be your ticket.
