This is a video of Hot Shots Golf FORE!, an awesome game for the Playstation 2 that came out YEARS ago, but it’s still a very fun game, if not one of the best golf games out there that doesn’t beat the whole idea of a golf simulation to death. Because of the cartoonish look, quirky characters, and exotic course designs, families and casual gamers can really get into this game. Although it contains all of these zany elements, there is still a solid golf foundation built into the game, that consists of risk-reward situations, hazard play, course management, and shotmaking. One of the features that I wanted to demonstrate in this video is a new shot that was built into Hot Shots’ swing system. With the swing system, players start the power meter at the bottom to choose the amount of power that they wish to create for their swing, and at the right side, there is an impact zone. The pink zone indicates the “sweet spot” of the club, while the red portions indicate mishits, and anything outside of this range will result in a deadly mishit. However, if a player manages to stop their swing right at the very beginning of the impact zone or the very end of the impact zone, they can execute high-lofted shots and low-lofted punch shots.
